For so many of us who grew up with Wheel of Fortune, part of the excitement of tuning into America’s favorite game show was to see what the lovely hostess Vanna White would come out wearing. She was always decked out in the most fabulous gowns and today, after 29 years on the show, she still has not worn the same dress twice. Amazing!

Earlier this month we had the pleasure and surprise to be visited by Vanna’s stylist for the show who was on the search for eco-friendly fashions for their Portland filming of the show. The theme was “The Wheel’s going green in Portland” so they were on a mission to ensure that every aspect of the show was environmentally conscious, including Vanna’s wardrobe. Naturally, EcoVibe Apparel was a perfect fit!

They selected for her a classic yet stunning magenta dress from Amour Vert eco-apparel made from bamboo and organic cotton. To our surprise, they paired it with some black leggings and boots which gave Vanna an edgy and modern look that we had never seen on the woman who typically dons sparkly ballroom gowns! In her exclusive interview with Eden Dawn for Portland Monthly Magazine, Vanna admitted that this type of outfit was totally unusual for her since she is usually wearing sequins and satin on the show. She said “I loved it! It was very comfortable.”

We were treated to VIP passes to the taping of the show which was really exciting since none of us had ever been on a TV show set, much less front row seats and a tour backstage to meet the hosts. It was a lot of fun and we felt quite honored that they selected EcoVibe as one of the local boutiques to support. And Vanna was just as beautiful and gracious in person as she is when she flips those letters on the board!

Vanna’s Amour Vert dress is available now at EcoVibe Apparel in magenta or black. See it on the Wheel of Fortune on April 30th when the show airs!
