As fellow members of 1% for the Planet, Ética focuses on ethically made goods. From the Ética website:
"based in Los Angeles and we are proud owners of our factory and wash house in Puebla, Mexico. ÉTICA is rooted in the ideals of fair labor practices and environmentally conscious manufacturing. We invest in energy efficient machinery to minimize waste, water and our energy footprint throughout the manufacturing process. With E-Flow machinery, we use 99% less water than the rest of the industry. Through the use of high efficiency dryers, we use 63% less energy. We use naturally derived dyes and softeners, as well as laser technology to reduce our chemical usage to 70% less than the industry standard. Our merchandise ships in plant-derived biodegradable poly bags. Our hang tags are printed with soy-based ink on 100% recycled paper, and our labels are woven from 100% recycled material. We recycle the water used to make our denim and use for local farmland and compress the stones used during washing into bricks for low income housing. We also proudly provide our employees numerous benefits such as on staff doctors, handicap friendly opportunities, free meals and community outreach programs. At ÉTICA we choose to invest in the people who make the job possible."
